Can I just ask - whatever happened to devMag??? I was slated to be featured like, years ago, and have never heard about it again....

Well, four months after being told to "wait until we (my former employer) make more money, and then you'll get a raise..." I've lost my job. This is the only place I've ever been fired from, and it's because the guy running the show is a moron, not because of my performance.

This was my first job as a graphic designer, and as it stands, I don't have enough good work in my portfolio to go and get another job designing. I feel so screwed. I should have just quit and left them in the lurch months ago.... although it still leaves me in the same position either way; stuck trying to find another job. It feels so expansive, the abyss of the unknown. I know as an artist I should be excited, but after years of sporadic work, at places that haven't encouraged me to be anything other than a desk/sales monkey, I'm so overwhelmed. I only expect more of that, and it's so depressing.
